Welcome to the SEDD Stage 2a Checker!

This tool checks your SEDD Stage 2a file based on the Draft 5.0 Document Type Definition (DTD) GENERAL_2a_1.dtd. Your original unzipped file may report data from one or several methods.
The tool checks your file for:
  1. Conformance with the general Stage 2A DTD (GENERAL_2a_1.dtd).
  2. SEDD required data elements.
  3. SEDD Draft 5.0 Valid Values.

Instructions for Using the SEDD 2A Checker:
Before using the SEDD 2A Checker, please verify that your file:
  • Contains the first two lines exactly as noted below with no comment lines above or between them:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE Header SYSTEM "GENERAL_2a_1.dtd">
  • Conforms to the general Stage 2A DTD (GENERAL_2a_1.dtd). (This DTD is available at the USEPA CLP Web site at: http://www.epa.gov/superfund/programs/clp/seddspec5.htm;
  • Name ends with a _2a_1 before the .xml extension prior to zipping the file (e.g., AJLab123_2a_1.xml); and
  • Is then zipped and has a ".ZIP" extension (e.g., AJLab123_2a_1.zip). Each zipped file shall only contain one <Header> node.

Note 1: This checker can only review a SEDD Draft Version 5.0 Stage 2a file based on the DTD (GENERAL_2a_1.dtd) located at http://www.epa.gov/superfund/programs/clp/seddspec5.htm.

Note 2: This checker assumes that the file being uploaded is compliant with basic XML structural rules as well as with the SEDD Draft Version 5.0 Stage 2a DTD. If the file being uploaded has significant issues, it may NOT be able to reviewed by the checker and you may not get a response.
